The outside southbound lane of Highway 49 at Dry Creek Road in Auburn will have nightwork while PG&E relocates a gas main ahead of a pedestrian walkway project.


AUBURN, CA (MPG) -  Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is replacing 635 feet of 6-inch natural gas main along Highway 49 just south of Dry Creek Road in Auburn.

Work will occur from May 12 to late June and take place Sunday to Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Work is occurring at nights to reduce traffic impacts. The outside southbound lane of Highway 49 will be closed during work hours, with the inside southbound lane fully open.

The work is being done at the request of the Placer County Transportation Agency and Caltrans which will build a pedestrian walkway.

Crews will bore and trench to upgrade the gas main.

PG&E has notified customers in the neighborhoods by automated phone calls.
