YUBA-SUTTER REGION, CA (MPG) - Sutter Surgical Hospital North Valley became one of only 10 hospitals in California to receive a five-star rating for patient experience on the federal Hospital Compare website. The rating is the highest for hospitals and is based on the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ scores from surveys sent to adult patients.

A total of 266 out of 3,478 hospitals in the United States received five stars in the new ratings on the updated website from scores collected in 2019. Ratings are derived from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, which is administered to a random sample of adult patients across all types of medical conditions between 48 hours and six weeks post-discharge.
