Placer County District Attorney's Office hosts 2021 National Crime Victims' Rights Week

AUBURN, CA (MPG) - The 2021 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is April 18-24. In an effort to educate and increase awareness, the Placer County District Attorney’s Office will be launching a new victims’ resources webpage, participating in a series of events, hosting a virtual 5K event and posting resource information throughout the week on their social media pages. 

The media is invited to attend these events as well as interview the District Attorney’s Office on the resources they have available for county victims.

Details: The office will be participating in the following events:

  • Monday morning, April 19, 7:30- 8:30 a.m. – Ceremonial tying of ribbons down the drive at Santucci
  • Monday April 19, 9 a.m. - Facebook post with a statement from Placer County District Attorney Morgan Gire
  • Monday evening, April 19, 6 p.m. – Planting of hearts and candlelight vigil at the historic courthouse in Auburn
  • Friday, April 23, 12 p.m. – Closing ceremonies at the historic courthouse in Auburn
  • Weeklong – The District Attorney’s Office will be hosting a virtual 5K event in support of victims. Participants can print a copy of the official race bib from their website, walk and run at their own convenience and post a photo on their Facebook page
