Placer County District Attorney's Office files battery charge from local Roseville sports game

ROSEVILLE, CA (MPG) - The Placer County District Attorney’s Office has announced the filing of criminal charges relating to a battery that occurred on Oct. 30, in Roseville, California, against a referee by a parent at a local soccer game.

A criminal complaint has been filed with the Placer County Superior Court charging Vicente Robles, 34, of Sacramento, with a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code Section 243.8 - battery committed against a sports official. 

The Roseville Police Department investigated this incident, and the crime report was received by the District Attorney’s Office on Nov. 17. 

The arraignment date has been set for Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 am in Department 30 at the Placer County Superior Court in Roseville.
