SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – Cathy Cook, Republican Candidate for State Assembly District 6, announced her campaign has been endorsed by both the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association PAC and Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher.

“We appreciate your strong and constant support for Proposition 13, and your excellent service to taxpayers.” said Jon Coupal, Chairman, HJTA-PAC.  Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association PAC (HJTA-PAC) was founded by Howard Jarvis to back candidates for office who support Proposition 13. Candidates are screened through a questionnaire and interview with the goal of finding candidates who are taxpayer-friendly, fiscally responsible and dedicated to the principles of Proposition 13. HJTA-PAC is nonpartisan and will consider candidates of any party affiliation if they meet pro-taxpayer standards.

In addition, Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher also endorsed Cathy Cook saying: “As one of the first women to fly combat missions in the United States Air Force, Cathy Cook has what it takes to be in the State Assembly. As a taxpayer advocate, Cathy has helped defeat tax hikes on the middle class and fixed income seniors. She will work to repeal early release laws that are putting dangerous felons back on our streets and will support our law enforcement professionals. Cathy Cook is the exact type of common-sense leader we need in the State Assembly.”

Cathy Cook responded, “I am pleased to receive the support of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC and Republican Assembly Leader James Gallagher, and I will be a strong voice for our middle-class families to improve their quality of life by stopping reckless spending and increased taxes. I will fight for common sense criminal justice reforms that will make our streets safe again.  I promise I will fight to keep California Safe and Affordable.”
