Interstate 80 Construction Update for Sierra Corridor

Photo courtesy of California Department of Transportation PLACER/NEVADA/SIERRA COUNTIES – Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane and ramp closures in multiple locations along Interstate 80 (I-80) as several projects and emergency repairs continue in Placer, Nevada and Sierra counties. Emergency repair work is starting to wrap up for the season, but construction continues on major projects and motorists still may experience delays up to a maximum of two hours and are encouraged to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 Sierra corridor. Eastbound I-80 Placer/Nevada bridge preservation project near Magra, lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Work is also scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, October 11 to 8 a.m. Saturday, October 12. Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Monte Vista and Drum Forebay, lane and ramp closures will be in place around the clock beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, October 7 through 10 a.m. Friday, October 11. Work is also scheduled from 7 p.m. Friday, October 11 to 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12. Placer/Nevada bridge preservation project near Alta, lane closures will be in place from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Work is also scheduled from 9 p.m. Friday, October 11 to 7 a.m. Saturday, October 12. Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project between Yuba Gap and the junction with State Route 20 (SR-20), lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Work is also scheduled from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday, October 11. Placer/Nevada bridge preservation project near Crystal Lake, lane closures will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Work is scheduled to end at 6 a.m. Friday, October 11. Emergency Repairs Location 3 between Big Bend and Rainbow, lane closures will be in place around the clock beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 9 through noon Friday, October 11. Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Troy and Soda Springs, lane closures will be in place from 8 p.m. Saturday, October 5 through 11 a.m. Sunday, October 6 and around the clock beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, October 7 through noon Friday, October 11. Work is also scheduled from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 12. |
Westbound I-80
Westbound I-80 restriping project between the CHP Truck Scales and State Route 267, lane closures will be in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10.
Emergency Repairs Location 4
Between the Old Ag Station and Donner Pass Road, lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, October 6 and Monday, October 7. Work is scheduled to end at 7 a.m. Tuesday, October 8.
Between Donner Summit Rest Area and Castle Peak, lane and ramp closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, October 7 through Wednesday, October 9. Work is scheduled to end at 7 a.m. Thursday, October 10.
Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Soda Springs and Troy, lane closures will be in place around the clock beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 8 through 6 p.m. Friday, October 11.
Emergency Repairs Location 3 between Rainbow and Cisco Grove, lane closures will be in place from 10 p.m. Monday, October 7 through 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 8 and around the clock beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, October 8 through noon Thursday, October 10.
Placer/Nevada bridge preservation project near Crystal Lake, lane closures will be in place from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Work is scheduled to end at 7 a.m. Friday, October 11.
Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project between the junction with SR-20 and Yuba Gap, lane closures will be in place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Work is also scheduled from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, October 11.
Emergency Repairs Location 2 between Emigrant Gap and Nyack, lane and ramp closures will be in place around the clock beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, October 7 through noon Thursday, October 10.
Placer/Nevada bridge preservation project near Blue Canyon, lane closures will be in place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, October 7 through Thursday, October 10. Work is scheduled to end at 6 a.m. Friday, October 11.
Emergency Repairs Location 2 between Blue Canyon and Drum Forebay, lane closures will be in place from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 8 through Friday, October 11.
Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Drum Forebay and Monte Vista, lane and ramp closures will be in place around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday, October 7 through 7 p.m. Saturday, October 12.
Placer/Nevada bridge preservation project
Near Alta, lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday, October 8 through Thursday, October 10. Work is also scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, October 11 through 8 a.m. Saturday, October 12.
Near Magra, lane closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, October 7 through Wednesday, October 9. Work is also scheduled from 9 p.m. Thursday, October 10 through 10 a.m. Friday, October 11.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
