Athens Renewable Energy Supports Placer County through Holiday Community Giving Program

The program, supported by the project’s sponsor, Vesper Energy, awards quarterly donations to nonprofit and community organizations whose work benefits the people or institutions of Placer County. This quarter’s recipients of the Community Giving Program are the Arts Council of Placer County, Placer Land Trust and Koinonia Family Services.
The Arts Council of Placer County’s mission is to promote and advocate for all arts across Placer County, enrich and help develop the artistic culture of this region of Northern California and support the creative economy. The council received a donation of $2,500 from Athens Renewable Energy.
“We believe that art should be a part of everyday living and that, when it is, everyone in the community benefits,” said Barbara Burge, Managing Director of the Arts Council of Placer County. “The generous donation from Athens Renewable Energy will support our programming and allow us to continue to enrich Placer County through the creative arts.”
Placer Land Trust’s mission is to work with willing landowners and conservation partners to permanently protect and care for natural and agricultural lands in Placer County, preserving the land for future generations. They received a donation of $2,500 from Athens Renewable Energy.
“We are thrilled to be able to purchase the additional landscaping tools we have been in need of,” said Christine Pieper, board president. “Protecting Placer County’s natural landscape is at the heart of what we do, and we are thankful that Athens Renewable Energy supports local causes like ours.”
Koinonia Family Services’ mission is to bring hope and healing to children, youth, and families through meaningful and lasting relationships. Over its 40-year history of supporting children in foster care, empowering families and helping foster youth thrive, the organization has helped thousands of children and teens begin a new life. Koinonia Family Services received a donation of $2,500 from Athens Renewable Energy.
“There is a great need for compassionate and effective care for the teens in our community,” said Krystal Edwards, Board Chair. “The generous donation from Athens Renewable Energy will support our Homes for Teens program. This program offers teens soft skill training, job readiness training, equine therapy, financial education and many other essential skills, setting them up for long-term success.”
Athens Renewable Energy invites interested non-profits and community organizations to apply for its first-quarter 2025 Community Giving Program. This quarterly award supports organizations working to benefit the people or institutions of Placer County. Interested parties can apply online here.
