Placer County Elections Office Opens Candidate Filing for Nov. 4, Special Election

AUBURN, CA (MPG) - The Placer County Elections Office would like to share some key deadlines and other important information regarding the November 4, 2025 Special Election, particularly with those considering candidacy.
For all offices on the special election ballot, candidate filing began Monday, July 14. The candidate filing period closes Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. During this time, interested parties can access filing services Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Placer County Clerk- Recorder-Elections Office at 3715 Atherton Road in Rocklin.
If an incumbent fails to file during this time, candidate filing will extend for any candidate except the incumbent and end Aug. 13 at 5 p.m. If an incumbent files their nomination paperwork or the officeholder has termed out, there will not be an extension of candidate filing for that office.
