Placer County Supervisor Shanti Landon Re-Appointed to National Leadership Position on Agriculture and Rural Affairs

AUBURN, CA (MPG) - Placer County District 2 Supervisor Shanti Landon has been re-appointed Rural Development Subcommittee Vice Chair for the National Association of Counties Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Steering Committee, and as a member of the association’s Rural Action Caucus.
Each position is a one-year appointment and was announced today by NACo President J.D. Clark.
Landon will continue to play a key role in shaping national policy on agriculture, rural development and related issues.
“I am honored to be selected to serve for a second year and look forward to representing Placer County and California’s rural communities on a national level,” said Landon. “This opportunity will allow me to advocate for policies that support our agricultural industry and enhance the quality of life for our rural residents.”
The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Steering Committee is responsible for NACo policy on all matters pertaining to agriculture, rural development, U.S. Department of Agriculture programs, rural energy development, research and extension, food safety, and conservation programs.
