AUBURN, CA (MPG) - The Placer County Treasurer-Tax Collector is reminding property owners to avoid property tax penalties by paying the second installment of property taxes by 5 p.m. April 10 for the 2025-26 tax year.

What is the payment deadline? The 2nd installment becomes delinquent after April 10 at which time a 10 percent penalty plus an additional $10 cost will be added.

Taxes remaining unpaid after June 30 accrue additional penalties at 1.5 percent per month (18 percent annually), plus a $15 fee is due at time of redemption. When mailing close to a delinquent date, we encourage taxpayers to request a hand-cancelled timely postmark at a U.S. Postal Office counter.
