AUBURN, CA (MPG) - The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a list of transportation projects that will allow Placer County to receive an estimated $13.24 million in Senate Bill 1 funding during fiscal year 2026-27.

The funding, provided through California’s Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, will support road maintenance and rehabilitation projects throughout the county, including pavement preservation, storm-damage repairs, roadside vegetation management and bridge maintenance and repairs.

County officials said the funding will help maintain and rehabilitate approximately 18 miles of county roads while improving safety and preserving transportation infrastructure.

“This funding helps us continue investing in critical road maintenance projects that keep our transportation network safe and reliable,” said Deputy Director of Public Works Matt Randall.

The project list includes three new projects and nine ongoing projects. State law requires local agencies receiving Senate Bill 1 funding to adopt and submit an annual project list to remain eligible for funding.

The anticipated $13,241,824 in revenue is included in the county’s recommended fiscal year 2026-27 budget and will have no impact on the General Fund.

Some projects include a partial contribution or full funding to 15 miles of surface treatment projects in Granite Bay, Penryn and Foresthill; two miles of asphalt overlay projects on county roads in the Tahoe Basin; a large-scale culvert replacement project at Sierra College Boulevard on English Colony Way at Clover Valley Creek; and construction of a new bridge and roadway approaches on Garden Bar Road at Doty Ravine.

The full list of projects can be viewed on the county’s staff report.
