ROCKLIN, CA (MPG) - Innova Product Development, a Rocklin-based engineering design firm, has been selected to design critical electronic subsystems for a Lunar Terrain Vehicle that will support future Artemis missions and NASA's long-term goal of establishing a sustained human presence on the Moon.

The Lunar Terrain Vehicle will provide astronauts with essential mobility during missions at the Moon's South Pole, enabling crews to travel farther, conduct scientific research, analyze resources and prepare future lunar infrastructure. The vehicle represents a key component of NASA's next generation of lunar exploration.

For Innova Product Development, the project is another milestone in nearly two decades of designing complex electronics for mission-critical applications.

"Our team has always enjoyed solving difficult engineering problems, especially when the work has a meaningful impact," said Camren Spangler, founder and principal engineer of Innova Product Development. "To know that technology designed here in Rocklin will contribute to humanity's return to the Moon is both humbling and incredibly exciting."

Founded in 2007, Innova specializes in FPGA firmware development, embedded software and high-speed digital hardware design. Although the company maintains a relatively small team, its engineers have contributed to products used across the aerospace, medical device and professional broadcast industries.

From robotic surgical systems and diagnostic medical equipment to satellite communications, aircraft electronics and live television production systems, Innova's work often powers technologies that millions of people rely on every day, despite the company remaining largely unknown outside engineering circles.

"We've never focused on being the biggest engineering company," Spangler said. "We've focused on being the team customers call when the project absolutely has to succeed. That philosophy has led to long-term relationships, repeat business, and opportunities like this one."

Growing Team to Meet Demand

The Artemis project comes during a period of continued growth for Innova, and the company is expanding its engineering team to support both the lunar vehicle program and other advanced technology projects.

The company is currently hiring electrical and computer engineers with experience in FPGA / HDL development (Verilog or VHDL), embedded firmware development, high-speed digital hardware design, PCB design and embedded C/C++ development.

Positions are based in Rocklin and offer competitive salaries, performance bonuses, hybrid work opportunities, comprehensive benefits and the opportunity to work directly on products used in aerospace, medical technology, robotics and professional video systems.

Unlike many larger engineering organizations, Innova emphasizes giving engineers direct ownership of projects while minimizing bureaucracy and unnecessary meetings.

"Our engineers work directly with decision makers, solve new problems every day, and have tremendous influence over the products they build," Spangler said. "We believe great engineers should spend their time engineering."

A Quiet Success Story in Rocklin

For nearly 20 years, Innova Product Development has quietly built a reputation among leading technology companies for delivering reliable engineering solutions on complex projects.

While many people have never heard the company's name, chances are they've benefited from technology developed by Innova engineers, whether through advanced medical equipment, aircraft systems, broadcast technology used during major sporting events, or now, future missions exploring the lunar surface.
