NORTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (MPG) - Event producers seeking support for 2027 events planned in North Lake Tahoe are invited to apply for funding beginning Aug. 15. This will be the only event funding application cycle for both new and returning events, with events previously funded for at least two years to be invited to a condensed application. All event applications will be accepted through Sept. 15.

“Because of the TBID, we are able to support new and returning events that bring vibrancy to our communities, strengthen our local business community, and drive economic vitality throughout North Lake Tahoe,” said Kimberly Brown, North Tahoe Chamber executive director. “Event producers seeking financial support for their 2027 events are encouraged to apply for funding.”

The shift to a single funding cycle will allow the Chamber Advisory Committee to evaluate all applications and make funding decisions at the same time, allowing for NTCA Board approval and contract completion before the new year. A more data-driven review and scoring process will be enacted for every submission, with a weighted scoring range based on criteria that include ROI, attendance, marketing, sustainability and transportation, lodging and tiered impact.

In total, 48 special events, including 12 ongoing events, were awarded a total of $660,000 to help support the business community and offer a diverse mix of cultural and recreational activities throughout the year. Local favorites like the Made in Tahoe Festival and the Alpenglow Sports Winter Speaker Series, the Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic, the Tahoe Film Fest and many more, contribute to North Tahoe’s economic vitality and vibrancy.

Events that take place during off-peak periods are given priority to help support the local economy and mitigate impacts to the environment. In addition, events that help drive people to lakeside communities are prioritized in the winter, while events that take place in the mountains are the focus in the summer.

Event producers interested in applying for 2027 funding will find minimum eligibility requirements, evaluation framework, funding disbursement details, reporting and accountability information and more available online. Those submitting an application for the first time will be required to present at the Oct. 13 Chamber Advisory Committee meeting.

Two opportunities for event producers to ask questions and ensure their applications align with eligibility requirements will be held in person at the Kings Beach Visitor Information Center on Thursday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
