AUBURN, CA (MPG) - Forgot to renew your library books? Placer County Library now has you covered.

The library is set to launch a new automatic renewal program Oct. 15 that gives patrons up to two additional renewals on eligible library materials. automatically, with no action required.

Two days before an eligible item is due, the library will automatically renew it for another loan period. Patrons will receive an email or text notification with their new due date, making it easier to keep track of borrowed materials and avoid overdue items.

“We know our patrons are busy, and sometimes a library due date can get lost in the shuffle,” said Amy Boese, director of Library Services. “Automatic renewals are a simple way to give people a little more time with their materials while helping reduce overdue items and fines. It’s one more way we can make the library easier and more convenient to use.”

The program applies to all eligible library materials. Items that cannot be renewed, including State Parks passes and materials with a waiting list, will retain their current due dates.

Patrons can check their accounts for current due dates and other information by downloading the Placer County Library app or logging in at http://www.placer.polarislibrary.com.
