Livingston Taylor’s more than 50-year career has encompassed performance, songwriting, and teaching. From top 40 hits “Carolina Day, ” “Get out of Bed, ” “I Will Be in Love with You” and “I’ll Come Running, ” to “I Can Dream of You” and “Boatman, ” (the last two recorded by his brother James Taylor), Livingston’s creative output has continued unabated. His musical knowledge has inspired a varied repertoire, and he is equally at home with a range of musical genres—folk, pop, gospel, jazz. Loudon Wainwright III came to fame when “Dead Skunk” became a Top 20 hit in 1972. Wainwright has recorded 27 albums, including his 2009 Grammy Award-winning High Wide & Handsome. Additionally, Wainwright has co-written the music for Judd Apatow’s hit movie Knocked Up, written music for the British theatrical adaptation of the novel Lucky You, and composed topical songs for NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered and ABC’s Nightline. An accomplished actor, he has appeared in films directed by Martin Scorsese, Hal Ashby, Christopher Guest, Tim Burton, Cameron Crowe, and Judd Apatow. Wainwright has also starred on TV in M.A.S.H. and Undeclared, and on Broadway in Pump Boys and Dinettes.
